Do you remember the time before your dog joined your family?
How you never had to go out in the rain or pick up dog pooh? How you'd come home and there's was no one running up to you, tail wagging, absolutely delighted that you're home?
Before Mash joined my family I never appreciated exactly how awesome it was to be a hoomum! A dog brings so much joy to your life, new experiences, new ways of looking at and exploring the world around us.
It took me years to actually go through with getting Mash, I was worried that I'd be devastated when he wasn't with me anymore until a friend said to me "so you're going to miss out on 10-15 years of love and adventures just because you don't want to be sad when they're gone?" and she was so right!
So Mash came home and I retrained as a professional dog photographer because I wanted to capture memories of us living our best life!! My house is covered in photos of the most amazing little furball I've ever had the pleasure to meet and the best bit - each and every photo I have instantly takes me back to the moment when it was taken (usually me telling him to "wait" as his wiggling bum inched forward to get to the cheese being dangled in front of his nose!)
Why am I telling you this? Because I truly believe we should all have the opportunity to have great photos of our dogs.
